I've played Symphonia, Vesperia, and some of Xillia, but never Abyss. I never had a PS2 when this game was new, so to finally be able to have it playable on a console I own, and have it be portable, is just fantastic. I haven't completed the game yet, but from what I have played... It's a great game in the series, perhaps better than Symphonia and Vesperia. Characters are all very likable, the story is good, and the gameplay is of course great, standard Tales fare. I've always loved the battle system in the games, and it's as fun as always. Tales fans or people who like a bit more action in their JRPG's will have a lot of fun here. The music is also very good, perhaps lacking a little bit of originality at times. Voice acting is solid for a Tales game too, even if some of the characters voices fall flat.What I don't like however is how much of a port it really is. The Tales Of series has been 1 of my favorite rpg series since Tales of Destiny for PS1 & i've loved every game in the series since.. They always deliver amazing, rich worlds to explore with fun, lovable, anime style characters, engaging stories with epic plot twists, great action oriented battle systems & enough depth of rpg gameplay to satisfy most die hard rpg fans.. I was so happy when i found out they were bringing the ps2 classic to the 3ds i didnt know what to do with myself except snatch it up & try & spread the word that this is a great game that everybody who has 3ds should play.. Its worth every penny & in purhasing it hopefully it'll show Nintendo & the powers that be that we americans love not just rpgs but great games just as much as the next gamer & want more of these great games to come our way...
