While Star Wars: the Old Republic in now way remakes the mould, it is a great game. It's too early to speak of end game because I wasn't one of the non-weekend beta testers.

Anyone familiar with MMOs will immediately be comfortable with the controls of the game and will be able to dive right in. Even for those who aren't, the on-by-default tips should be sufficient to get the new player to have a working knowledge quickly.

The character customization isn't not that vast, but in my experience from other MMOs, is for the most part a cut above what most games allow. One drawback is that all the different alien races are very humanoid in appearance. This is a drawback from the extensive voice acting that limits species to 'galactic standard' speaking types. Otherwise there are many tools to individualize your character enough that there should be several things to set you apart from that guy next to you in game.

Questing in this game is just amazing. Every... Read more

! ATTENTION ! Be careful when opening the seal of the music CD envelope! The music CD is located in the upper portion of the envelope. The problem? The envelope is only open at the top, and sealed with a circular transparent sticker. The music CD is held in place so closely to the top that the circular sticker that seals this envelope makes contact with an edge of the CD. I call attention to this so that the reader does not damage the CD when cutting the seal to remove the music CD.

Like many other reviewers, I had been fortunate enough to get early access and into the beta. I like the game a lot and I think the quality of the game itself is 5 stars, as designated in the "fun rating" for this product. Star Wars: The Old Republic (SWTOR) is not perfect, and the pros and cons are discussed in reams of detail from numerous outlets.

I am placing this review to discuss the physical observations of the SWTOR Collector's Edition. I've broken this up into comments on... Read more

I'm not sure if I should be writing this review or playing SW:TOR. On one hand, this game deserves to be played, but on the other I really need to take a five minute break and let people know to pick this up! If you're new to MMOs, or a long time veteran, this is a game that you shouldn't pass up! Of course this is an MMO and they're never finished, so I will try to update as I play since it's the only fair thing to do!

Sure, it's a theme park MMO. Yes, it's similar to other theme park MMOs. The beauty of SW:TOR is in the story, voice acting, and polish that the developers at BioWare have put in. There's an insane amount of story and voice acting. It really drags you in and turns even the most mundane "go here, kill this" quests in to something you want to sit back and listen to. The "fourth" pillar of story is awesome, and it's here to stay. Heed my warning, this is the direction all theme park MMOs are going to head!

Gameplay wise it's your standard... Read more

This game is a prequel to all of the other Zelda games in which we find Link is a trainee knight of Skyloft, a town floating high above the clouds where Zelda is not yet a Princess. This is a unique and original adventure that intentionally tries to break apart from the franchise trend.

The sword is Motion-Plus genius in that what you do in real life is exactly mirrored on screen -- in combat there is a perfect 1:1 balance I have not seen in any other wii game. You can wave your sword around while waiting for an opening to strike or just flail it around with perfect precision. Nearly every enemy requires a specific sword technique to defeat it - although there aren't a ton of enemies in this game, each one offers a unique challenge.

Each item is quickly enabled with the remote so there is not much pausing to go through menu pages. Aiming with the slingshot or bow is much easier since you are using the wii motion-plus. Occasionally the controls will be... Read more

My kids will do anything to play this game. Dishes? Sure, mom. Clean your room? Already done. Practiced the piano early this morning, mom. And vacuumed. In other words, they love it and so do I. My husband has loved every Zelda since the first and this is no exception. And they have a hard time getting me to play too, but I have to admit this game design is FUN! Flying is fun. Swinging a sword using the Wii controller (which is even sensitive to how your wrist is turned!) while targeting/shielding with the nunchuck is FUN! Even the training levels are fun. The story is fun, too. True, the Wii can't compare with HD graphics of the Xbox 360, but that doesn't mean the art is not beautifully rendered. I like that this world is light and bright and fresh-feeling. Nicer than the dark, shadowy feel of the last game.

And now for the extras. Can I say the soundtrack CD is amazing!?! I can't believe what effort went into that. Full-on orchestral soundtrack and... Read more
