I've had a Nostromo for years when it was still being manufactured by Belkin. They sold it Razer a while back and stopped driver support for the N52 which became a issue for me under Win7, so I figured since I liked the Death Adder mouse and Tarantula keyboard so much, surely their take on the Nostromo would be golden. It is...mostly, but they did fall short of a perfect redraft of the N52.

First, the software that comes bundled with the Razer Nostromo is very good, very solid and stable, and IMO better than what Belkin had going with their profiler. The Nostromo's profiler software under Belkin was good and easy to use, very intuitive on most levels as far as programming macros and keystrokes were concerned, and allowed you to set up 3 keymaps with page flipping fairly easily. The Razer version has the same ease of use, but is smoother and cleaner with its layout, it enables far smoother profile changes even within a game to other game set ups, something the Belkin... 5.0 out of 5 stars Only Game controller you will ever need to own, May 12, 2011
This review is from: Razer Nostromo Gaming Keypad (RZ07-00490100-R3) (Personal Computers)
I have owned every version of the Nostromo n52 since the first model, and I realize that many reading this review must be thinking that I'm giving an unfair and bias support to the Razer Nostromo n52 because I have not experience with any of the other gamepad controllers out there. You would be wrong, I have own, played, and worked with the Logitech G13 Programmable Gameboard with LCD Display and the Fang Gamepad and the Saitek PC Gamer's Keyboard and even the... Read more

I've used the Razer Nostromo's predecessors, the n52 and n52te, and the Nostromo is a worthy successor and upgrade.
I've also tried several of the competing products.. And the Nostromo definitely comes out on top.

The keys require minimal pressure and are short-throw. The dpad is slick and responsive. The scrollwheel adds a welcome optional input, or for scrolling thru the Nostromo's 8 modes. The hardware is up to Razer's high standards, and a pleasure to use for long or intense gaming sessions, especially in comparison to keyboards that just aren't designed for gaming.

The out of the box support is unfortunately weak, and does require some digging to get everything together.. Drivers and firmware updates are on Razer's website, so be prepared to download those and install them rather than from a dvd. Welcome to the online content age. I have a YouTube channel that focuses on using the Nostromo (actually the n52te, but the two are functionally similar)... Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars Deadman's Quest/ Sports Champions bundle a better deal, November 26, 2011
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Deadmund's Quest Move Bundle (Accessory)
Customer Video Review Length:: 1:21 Mins

First of all, I'd like to say that I have been playing strictly BF3 and MW3 the last couple of weeks, and I had Deadman's Quest on my dresser collecting dust. I was having doubts that I would enjoy it. I wasn't impressed at first either. As I first started, I was sitting on my bed, and realized shortly that the grappling hook wouldn't work as well as I wanted it to. I then realized it was necessary for me to stand up, and this was a game that requires you to stand up. The controls made more sense, and were very accurate. I really wasn't in to the story, so I skipped all the cutsecenes. It's pretty much about a boy named Edmund who is now dead, and his new name is Deadmund. He has to collect pieces of an amulet, blah, blah, blah.
The gameplay is a lot of fun. The best part is that you feel kind of cozy playing this game because of the colors. One level may be all blue, and another all red. It's fun, and gives me warm fuzzies inside (if that makes sense)... Read more

I couldn't believe it when I saw it...a PS3 Move bundle with two games, controller and eye for only $98!!!! I bought it for my son (age 7), but I was playing it more than he was (which he wasn't too happy about). Shipped quickly and was in OEM packaging. Great Product and deal!

We bought this bundle to add Move to our PlayStation. We wanted something that would give us some exercise and to be fun. The Sony Move product is relatively low priced (since we already had the PlayStation) and easy to install. The accuracy of the hand held unit with the games is quite good and the overall system works quite well.

We were most interested in the Sports Champions games which is all we play. The games are not as aerobic as we'd hoped. They do provide hours of fun as we play Frisbee golf or ping pong against each other. My only complaint is there are some pauses between holes in Frisbee Golf that slow us down.

This bundle was the cheapest way we found we could buy into the whole Move world. We've since purchased a second controller so we could play two player games that required a second controller. We also purchased a charging base for two controllers to make things easier.

We'll be looking for new games to buy and try but for now we're... Read more

4.0 out of 5 stars Great keyboard! Just know what you are buying., November 11, 2010

I purchased this keyboard direct from Razer since you can't seem to get it anywhere else at the moment.

The Razer Blackwidow is definitely quite different from any standard keyboard I had previously used. The keyboard I was using previously was the Razer Tarantula, which is Razer's first gaming keyboard. Compared to the Tarantula, the keys are much more tactile and make a significant noise when pressed, but quite honestly I enjoy it. Overall, it is a breeze to type on as long as you are not coming from a laptop. In that case, you may need some time to adjust to the way the keys feel when depressed.

Things I enjoy:
-Tactile feel
-Keyboard is hefty and feels like it will never break.
-Keys are easy to depress and really prevents mistypes.
-Keyboard size is much more portable for LAN's than other gaming keyboards i've seen.
-On-the-fly macros could come in handy, I just don't have a use for them yet.

My only gripes with the... Read more

1.0 out of 5 stars WARNING Poor Quality Control, August 3, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase( What's this?)
Warning! There seems to be a real problem with Razer's Quality Control and Razer does not care.

We ordered 2, within a week the "S" key stopped responding on one keyboard, Amazon replaced it in their usual excellent way. Then almost immediately the replacement started experiencing the exact same problem. At the same time the second keyboard in the original order developed a problem; the "S" key started sticking in the depressed position.

Three keyboards delivered, three keyboards defective in very similar ways, all problems with the "S" key.

As it is my understanding that Amazon does not return defective items to the manufacturers, which was later confirmed by Razer, I thought I would do Razer a favor and give them a chance to examine the 2 defective keyboards in my possession. After spending much time on the phone and a week sending and resending emails describing the problem and my offer to help keep these units out of the trash pile at Amazon, they... Read more

1.0 out of 5 stars Wow...in more ways than one!, April 11, 2011
This review is from: Razer BlackWidow Ultimate Mechanical Gaming Keyboard (Personal Computers)
I really wanted to like this keyboard. I also never thought I would be making a review on this keyboard. Not only that, I never thought it would be a negative review. Most of the time, when I check out reviews, I usually end up thinking "Oh, look at the couple of bad reviews, haha. Poor raging people about a little bit of bad luck." But either I am incredibly unlucky, incredibly picky, or this keyboard really is crap.

So I got this keyboard online. After two weeks of waiting, I finally got my box in the mail. Man, I was so excited! I played with it a lot and really enjoyed the feel of the keys. About a day into my joy with the keyboard, I realized the spacebar was really hard to press, and sometimes stuck. I examined it and noticed that the spacebar was bumping the alt key. I did a quick google search and found that it was a common problem with this keyboard because Razer doesn't use consistant models for their keys. Oh well, return it and try again!

Second time... Read more
