PREFACE

When I decided to replace my old standard Dell keyboard, I opted for an illuminated one. I settled on a choice of three, reading virtually every rating on the Cyborg P17UK and Logitech's G11 & G15 on several sites before finally selecting the Cyborg.

I use the Windows XP- 32 bit operating system. I am not a gamer anymore; but am an extensive user of productivity software and developer of sophisticated macros including using VBA and SQL, especially for MircoSoft Office products. I also use PhotoShop & Corel Draw as well as some audio editing software, and do some web programming with Java and HTML. I am not a touch typist, but no slouch either, and I do a lot of writing. So understand, my recommendations are from this perspective.

RECOMMENDATION:

In my opinion (IMAO), this is a sturdy, high quality board. Like many, I was torn between the G11, G15 and the Cyborg. All are roughly equivalent and, depending upon your needs, will... Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars Great keyboard that feels better than the g15, April 28, 2008

This review is from: Mad Catz V.7 Keyboard for PC (Personal Computers)
Overall I am quite happy with this keyboard in comparison with the "new" g15. The keys are easier to press and light up far more brightly than the g15. Being able to change the color scheme in the gaming mode really looks awesome. One point I do not like but most would is that in gaming mode the windows key press is cut from the keyboard meaning even if you have it disabled via your registry you cannot press the windows key which I use for skype, ventrilo and teamspeak. Some may complain of the spacebar but it feels fine except it feels as if it could become a sticky press down the line but overall not a significant problem. I can also press more than 3 keys at once and all the keystrokes will register in comparison with the eclipse 2. Great for gamers and for people who type frequently.

This keyboard is unbelievably cool.

This is a standard US keyboard, with the key layout being familiar to most. The keys are a standard height with a solid feel, as opposed to low profile scissor keys which some say have a faster response. In the end it is a matter of taste. This keyboard responds well, and has a low noise level, which makes for a wonderful typing experience.

This keyboard is bright, even in a well lighted room. Cyborg is unique in the the ability to switch colors, zones and brightness level. Of course, if you like blue, you might want a different keyboard, since blue is not an option.

Having metal keys seems to be a good idea, and while the keys wont break, more of the typing force should transfer itself more easily to the plastic keyboard underneath the keys, which could conceivably cause some damage. Of course, when or if that damage does occur, I will either would have died of old age, or would have bought a new keyboard, so I... Read more

This review is from: PS3 DualShock 3 Wireless Controller - MLB 11 The Show Edition (Accessory)
This was the exact thing that my son was wanting. It was new, Sony brand, looked like a baseball, and only cost me 44.00, no shipping or tax. At Wal-Mart it cost 60.00 for a new controller and it is just plain. When he told me what he wanted, I did not think that I would ever to be able to find anything like that, but leave it to Amazon. If you need or want it, that is the place to go.

What can anyone say? The controller is legit. Actual Sony product with a baseball design. Great collector's item. If they made one that looked like a bat their bases would be covered.

Story

It's August 1957, four years after the conclusion of the event of Resistance 2 which left Lieutenant Nathan Hale dead on the battlefield against the invading Chimeran race and Joseph Capelli dishonorably discharged from the US Army for killing Hale. With the Chimera completely occupying the planet, Capelli has given up on the seemingly hopeless fight and has retreated into hiding underground with his wife and young son in Haven, Oklahoma. But as the climate of the planet continues to collapse, scientist Dr. Fyodor Malikov finds Capelli with a plan to deliver a devastating blow against the occupying Chimeran force. In order to protect his family, Capelli must leave them behind and embark on a harrowing mission across the country to New York City. Along the way, he and Malikov will encounter the survivors and remnants left in the aftermath of the brutal Chimeran invasion.

1.0 out of 5 stars Buy the Standard Edition, September 12, 2011
    = Fun:1.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Resistance 3 Doomsday Edition (Video Game)
Stay away from the Doomsday Edition unless you want the Sharpshooter and Move for another game. I bought the sharpshooter & Move to play Killzone 3 and absolutely loved it. It was so much fun that I couldn't wait for Playstation to release the next Move enabled FPS. This is not it! I will not say it is impossible to play this game with the move, but it is pretty close and not worth the effort. Definately forget about trying to use the sights (in game) on your weapon if you are using the Move because your crosshairs move like you are under water. It is easier to get a headshot if you fire from the hip since it is the only way you can track a moving enemy. Do not buy the sharpshooter and expect to be able to aim perfectly by looking down the sights of the controller. You will spend HOURS trying to get it sighted in correctly and then it will just drift on you anyway. I don't think it was actually made to be accurate, I think it was just a cool way to use your Move controllers... Read more

4.0 out of 5 stars Sharpshooter controls deficient, September 8, 2011

[Update: Insomniac has released a patch that takes care of the zoom implementation, so I have added another star]

    Original review:

The game itself is fun so far, but since this is a review for the sharpshooter gun edition, there are two glaring problems with the sharpshooter:

    1.
Zoom -- inefficient implementation and a poor zoom key choice, mixing it up with grenade all the time (since they are close and the grenade button is more prominent).

    2.
Jump while running is almost impossible due to the jump key mapping to "X" next to the movement joystick.

In both cases, you can't redefine the keys. If a patch is released that takes care of those, I would revise and add stars. As it is now, it takes a lot of fun away from an otherwise solid and enjoyable game.

1.0 out of 5 stars Playstation Move Controls are Awful for Resistance 3, September 11, 2011
    = Fun:2.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Resistance 3 Doomsday Edition (Video Game)
Edit: Moved from 2 stars to 1 star. After playing the game more, for me it's pretty much unplayable with the move.

Note: This review is completely about the PS Move Sharpshooter in relation to Resistance 3.

I've been a fan of light gun games since the days of Lethal Enforcers, Area 51, Virtua Cop and more. With that, I read about Resistance 3 and the PS Move, bought a PS3 and had my Doomsday Edition set on pre-order. I quickly bought Resistance 1 & 2 and played through them. Boy was I disappointed when I unpacked my Doomsday edition. The PS Move controls are awful for Aim Down Sight controls (ie Zoom In Controls). I would not suggest at all playing this game with the Move. While shooting from the hip works pretty good, the calibration needs a great deal of work. After Aiming Down Sight my calibration seems to get screwed up and pointing at the center of the screen has the cursor then pointing closer to one of the corners.

Aim Down Sight is... Read more
